CHAIR |
D. Barber, Chair of Nominating Committee, chaired the election of Council officers for the 2004/2005 Council. She welcomed the newly elected Council members to the table. |

NOMINATIONS |
D. Barber announced the nominees: President: Sandra Ireland D. Barber requested nominations from the floor. No nominations from the floor were submitted. |

Motion 1 |
Moved by D. Bishop, seconded by J. Attwood, That the nominations for officers of the 2004/2005 Council be closed. CARRIED |

OFFICERS |
D. Barber announced the following officers elected by acclamation: President: Sandra Ireland Each of the newly elected officers spoke briefly. |

CHAIR |
S. Ireland, President, assumed the Chair of Council. |
|
AGENDA |
The agenda for the first meeting of the newly constituted Council had been distributed. |

Motion 2 |
Moved by D. Trouten, seconded by M. Ternovan, That the agenda for the first meeting of the newly constituted Council be accepted. CARRIED |

COMPENSATION SUB-COMMITTEE |
The Executive Committee recommends the Chair of the Compensation Sub-Committee, who also serves in an advisory capacity to the Finance Committee. |

Motion 3 |
Moved by B. Weichel, seconded by D. Dietrich, That Brenda Flaherty be appointed as Chair of the Compensation Sub-Committee. CARRIED |

NOMINATING COMMITTEE |
D. Barber presented an overview of the process used by the Nominating Committee in identifying committee assignments. She noted that the underlying principles and goals of the process had been strongly endorsed by Council and committee members in the evaluation undertaken in the summer of 2003. She presented the committee assignments, as recommended by the Nominating Committee (attachment 1). |

Moved by B. Hill, seconded by M.A. Murray, That the slate of committee members, as recommended by the Nominating Committee, be approved. CARRIED |

DATES |
The Executive recommended dates of Council meetings through 2005. It was requested that members be notified as soon as possible if additional days are added. |
