    Application & Membership Fees

    All fees are in Canadian dollars and include Ontario’s Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) of 13% (the exception being the online Jurisprudence Examination, where other taxes may apply).

    You will be notified of the required amount when payment is needed. Please wait until you have confirmed exact amounts, as only some fees may apply to your situation.

    Payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, personal cheque or money order. Please make cheque or money order payable to College of Nurses of Ontario. The College does not accept cash payments.

    Note:     Applicants who were educated in Canadian nursing schools outside Ontario and not registered in any jurisdiction pay the same application and registration fees as applicants educated in Ontario schools.

    PLAR, or Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition, is a process to determine if an applicant meets the entry-to-practice competencies required of a Nurse Practitioner in Ontario.

    Issuance of a specialty certificate
    Applicable only to applicants eligible to register as an RN(EC) in one of four specialty areas: Primary Health Care, Paediatrics, Adult or Anaesthesia.    		       56.50

    Member Fees
    Annual membership fee
    For all RN and RPNs in the General, Extended and Temporary classes.    		       175.15

    Required of all nurses whose annual membership payments are received by the College after the renewal deadline of Dec. 31.    		       113.00

    Annual membership late fee for Non-Practising Class

    Lifting of suspension fee

    Health Professional Corporations
    Certificate of Authorization
    Nurses who wish to incorporate their business practices are required by law to possess a certificate of authorization. This fee accompanies the application form that begins the incorporation process.     		      565.00

    Miscellaneous Fees
    Verification of Registration
    Applies only to CNO members who require verification of College registration.     		      16.95
    Transcript request
    Applies to applicants and CNO members who request a copy of the transcripts provided to the College by their educational institutions.     		      22.60
    Automated Annual Verification of Member Renewal (AAVR)
    The College’s AAVR is an automated service that assists employers in checking the registration status of all nurses in their employ.    		        
    For facilities employing more than 250 nurses     250.00 + $0.35/nurse (plus HST)
    For facilities employing fewer than 250 nurses     125.00 + $0.35/nurse (plus HST)
    Additional runs within the same calendar year     25.00 + $0.35/nurse (plus HST)
