    Creating Access to Regulated Employment (CARE)
    CARE is an Ontario government program designed to help internationally educated nurses gain the knowledge and experience needed to pass the registration exam and practise nursing safely and confidently in Ontario.

    Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing /Association canadienne des écoles de sciences infirmières
    CASN/ACESI is the national voice for nursing education and nursing research and represents nursing programs in Canada.

    The Heath Force Ontario Access Centre helps internationally educated health care professionals prepare for practice in Ontario. Knowledgeable advisors work one on one to review your experience, explain steps to qualification and assess your opportunities.

    Ontario Ministry of Health
    The Ministry is responsible for administering the health care system and providing services to the Ontario public.

    Ontario Ministry of Labour
    The Ministry of Labour’s mission is to advance safe, fair and harmonious workplace practices that are essential to the social and economic well-being of the people of Ontario.

    Settlement.org
    This government-funded site provides information and resources for newcomers to Ontario.

    Occupation-Specific Language Training
    These government-funded courses, available for free at select Ontario colleges, are designed to help health-care professionals improve their language and workplace culture skills.

    Upgrading Programs

    Some Ontario community colleges provide opportunities for nurses to update their nursing education. These programs may be available to applicants who need to update their practice in order to meet the evidence of safe practice requirement of registration.

    Contact an approved nursing school to enquire about programs to upgrade your education and experience.

    Translations

    Applicants who receive copies of  supporting documents (e.g., transcripts or verification letters) in a language other than English or French are responsible for arranging the translation of those documents into English or French before their application can be assessed.
