Got questions about renewal?

Have you heard? Annual Membership Renewal is open!

Since AMR launched on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, more than 95,000 nurses have renewed their membership for 2018. On average, it takes most nurses only 12 minutes to renew.

If you haven’t already renewed, we’ve put together a list of helpful FAQs to guide you through the renewal process.

Is Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018 really the last day to renew without a late fee?
Yes. To accommodate AMR’s later-than-usual launch, we pushed back the late fee date. It is exactly one month later than usual. As always, we encourage you to renew early to avoid last-day panic. 

How do I move from one page or section to another?
There is a Previous or Next button at the bottom of each page. Don’t use your web browser’s back or forward button, as this can impact the data already entered. 

Why does it sometimes take a while to get to the next page?
During busy times, it may take longer for pages to load. All browsers except Safari should display a “please wait” message to show how the information is processing. Don’t refresh or reload the page. 

Which browser should I use to renew?
If you’re using an older version of a Web browser, you may have difficulty accessing Maintain Your Membership. Check here for a list of compatible browsers.

I need to stop and complete my application later. Can I do this?
Yes. You can pause your renewal application at any time by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking “Exit and Finish Later.” Please remember to log out of Maintain Your Membership by clicking the logout button at the top right hand corner of the page.

Whoa, why are you asking for so much info?
It may seem like we’re collecting a lot of information, but it’s required under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991. The information also helps the Ministry of Health develop policies and programs that move the nursing profession forward.

How long does it take to renew?
On average, about 12 minutes, but it can take up to 30 minutes. Before beginning, we suggest you compile your work experience and other practice details so that once you’re in the application, you can proceed smoothly.

How do I renew in French?
Log in to Maintain Your Membership using your email and password. Click on “Renew My Membership”, and choose “French” in the top right-hand corner. Please note that once you begin renewing, you will not be able to switch languages.

How do I know if I’ve paid?
Once you submit payment, please don’t close your browser until you receive confirmation that the transaction has gone through. At peak times, there may be a short delay in processing. 

Where do I find the payment receipt?
After renewing and paying your fee, you can find the "View/Print Receipt" button at the bottom of the page. If you have already logged out of AMR and would like a receipt, simply log back into Maintain My Membership, click Renew Your Membership Now and choose “View/Print Receipt.”

How do I know if I am logged out?
There is a logout button in the top right-hand corner of every AMR page. You should click on it to make sure you are logged out of Maintain Your Membership. This is especially important for those who share a computer at home or work.
