RN prescribing progress report

The College has started the work required to enable RN prescribing. We recently wrapped up an exploratory survey sent to a random sample of 9,000 Ontario RNs. We will use the results to guide our work on this change to RN scope of practice.

Last week, we heard from a number of RNs who were misinformed about the purpose of our survey and other aspects of the College’s work on RN prescribing authority.

Wettlaufer’s nursing registration revoked

On Tuesday, July 25, 2017, a Discipline Panel of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) found Elizabeth Tracy Mae Wettlaufer’s unprecedented actions of physical abuse to be professional misconduct, as they were disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional. CNO revoked her nursing registration.
