Connecting Ontarians to information about their health providers
Every day, millions of Ontarians receive care from a variety of health care professionals. Most of these professionals belong to health regulatory organizations that hold them accountable to standards that protect the interests of their clients.
In an effort to connect Ontarians to relevant information about their health care professionals and the organizations that ensure they provide safe and ethical care, Ontario’s health regulators have created a new website – www.ontariohealthregulators.ca.
The website is available in 10 languages and boasts a simple design that allows the public to find information according to three basic needs:
Learning about their rights when they visit a health care professional
Finding a health professional and getting important information about their registration and discipline history
Getting help when they have concerns or complaints about the health care they received
There are 26 health regulators and more than 300,000 health care professionals in Ontario. And now the public have a one-stop site that tells them what to expect when receiving care from these health care professionals. Visit www.ontariohealthregulators.ca and share the website address with your clients, friends and family.
