Get a head start on your Learning Plan

It’s time to start creating your annual Quality Assurance (QA) Program Learning Plan. This plan will help you identify your learning needs to remain competent. You are required to participate in ongoing quality improvement of your nursing practice throughout your nursing career.

A good place to start is by evaluating your 2017 Learning Plan to see if you achieved all your goals.

Next, reflect on your recent practice and ask your peers for feedback. Peer input is valuable as it provides you with greater insight about practice areas to improve. By completing this reflective process, you can identify your strengths and, most importantly, what you need to learn in 2018.  The College’s Practice Reflection worksheet can help you complete your reflection.

Once you have identified your learning needs, you can develop goals to address these needs. Review the Developing SMART Learning Goals guide and the Are your Learning Goals SMART? video to help you create specific and measureable learning goals. Start researching learning activities you will need to complete to help you achieve your goals. For example, you might need to register now for an upcoming online seminar.

Use the online Learning Plan at myQA to easily and securely store, organize and update your goals and activities in one place.
