Here’s what’s new for the 2017 renewal:
Membership fee changes
At its September meeting, Council approved that the 2017 fee for members in the General and Extended classes be increased by $35 to $190, and then by smaller increments each year until 2020.
In June, we sought feedback from members and stakeholders – 67 percent of those who responded supported the incremental approach.
Other options considered were to defer until 2018 and increase by $65, or increase by $54 in 2017. For more information, read the June issue of The Standard.
Council chose the incremental approach because it provides the funds needed for the College to carry out its regulatory mandate. This approach increases fees only as needed, provides a longer notice period for the later increases, and requires the least amount of money from members over five years (a total of $1,015 compared to $1,035 for the deferred increase and $1,045 for the 2017 one-time increase).

Fees (taxes included)
$214.70: annual fee for General and Extended Classes
$113: late fee for General and Extended Classes (applies after Dec. 31, 2016)
Suspension fees and fees for the other registration classes will remain the same in 2017.
