Welcome to the new cno.org!
After months of planning and testing, the College has launched a new and improved website.
The biggest change that visitors to www.cno.org will notice is the twin emphasis on audiences and action. The entire site is designed with the idea that most visitors come to the site with a specific task in mind, and that different audiences (such as College members, applicants or members of the public) arrive with different sets of tasks on their to-do lists.
For example, Ontario nurses may visit the site to renew their memberships or to look up the latest practice standards, while nurses outside the province may come to learn about the registration requirements for becoming a nurse in Ontario.
To find information quickly, visitors can click on the audience page at the left or they can use the headings at the top of the page.
- What is CNO? (information about the College, including its governance structure and annual reports)
- How We Protect the Public (information on regulatory functions, including enforcement and policy analysis)
- Become a Nurse in Ontario (information on registering as a nurse in Ontario for first-time applicants)
- Learn about the Standards & Guidelines (the place to find documents and educational resources to help nurses understand the standards)
- Maintain Your Membership (the place for members looking to update or change their registration status, as well as complete their QA commitments)
Like any other site, this will be a continual work in progress. We look forward to hearing what you think.
