Update: Public information about nurses

As part of the College’s move to greater transparency, more information will become publicly available about Ontario’s nurses. Following discussion and review of feedback from the public, nurses and other stakeholders at its June meeting, Council approved the addition of the following information to nurses’ profiles in Find a Nurse:

  • Registrations in other jurisdictions
  • Discipline findings in other jurisdictions
  • Criminal charges relevant to the nurse’s practice
  • Health facility privileges (for Nurse Practitioners)

For more information about when the College will begin to collect information, visit the FAQs on the Transparency page of the website.

Council will be having further discussion about the publication of cautions in person and Specified Continuing Remediation and Education (SCERP) outcomes at the September meeting.
