Registration Regulation and By-Law Amendments
Recent changes to Ontario legislation have prompted the College to review its Registration Regulation and its by-laws to ensure they are aligned with legislative requirements.
The regulation, which affects both current members and applicants to the College of Nurses, establishes the requirements to become or to reinstate as a registered nurse (RN), registered practical nurse (RPN), or nurse practitioner (NP) in Ontario, and sets the conditions that all members must meet to remain members in good standing and continue practising as a nurse.
The proposed changes to the Registration Regulation and College by-laws are outlined in two booklets, which were distributed to nurses with their Fall 2010 issues of The Standard:
