What is a ZIP file?A ZIP file acts like a folder that contains one or more larger files that have been compressed into smaller file sizes. ZIP filenames end with the ".zip" extension. What benefits do ZIP files offer?Besides improving storage by compressing files, ZIP files can contain folders and sub-folders, keeping multiple files organized. Taking the Compendium as an example, you can download one ZIP file containing all 47 Compendium documents instead of opening and saving documents one by one. What do I need to open a ZIP file?Open ZIP files using software like WinZip. You can download a free trial version of WinZip (http://www.winzip.com). This software allows you to open ZIP files and create your own. Windows XP has a built-in function that let's you open zip files.
