ZIP filenames end with the ".zip" extension. What benefits do ZIP files offer?Besides improving storage by compressing files, ZIP files can contain folders and sub-folders, keeping multiple files organized. Taking the College's Compendium of Practice Standards as an example, you can download one ZIP file containing all Compendium documents instead of opening and saving documents one by one. What do I need to open a ZIP file?Open ZIP files using software like WinZip. Macs and PCs running Windows XP or Vista have a built-in function that let's you open zip files. You can also download a free trial version of WinZip (http://www.winzip.com). This software allows you to open ZIP files and create your own. [top] |
