Practice Consultation

 

Practice Consultation is available to organizations that are experiencing professional practice issue(s) that are not resolved through utilization of other CNO resources (i.e.) CNO website information, publications, On-Line Learning Modules, Teleconferences. A professional practice issue is an issue or situation that could compromise client care. A consultation requires that the organization has:

  • identified their professional practice issue and any factor in the practice setting that impacts a nurse’s ability to act in accordance with the standard of practice of the profession,
  • utilized CNO resources (i.e.) On Line Learning Module) specific to their issue,
  • developed an overall plan with goals for addressing the issue,
  • identified evaluation criteria to determine how practice has been impacted and sustained as a result of the plan

The learning modules are: Consent, Documentation, Infection Prevention & Control, Medication, Professional Standards, Restraints, Therapeutic Nurse Client Relationship, and Utilization of RNs and RPNs.

Please complete the following form if you require consultation that cannot be addressed through the learning modules or practice support line (e.g. discussion with a Practice Liaison on the telephone) in managing a professional practice issue within your organization.
