CNO Documents and RNAO Best Practice Guidelines

The College of Nurses of Ontario and the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) are committed to developing tools that will help nurses provide the highest quality care possible.

CNO’s practice standards and guidelines contain the professional expectations for all Ontario nurses and apply in a variety of practice settings and situations. RNAO’s Best Practice Guidelines project supports Ontario nurses by providing them with guidance on client care. The RNAO documents are developed in five phases: planning, development, implementation, evaluation and dissemination. Some CNO practice standards and guidelines have been cited as resources in the RNAO guidelines.

Below are lists of RNAO guidelines and the related CNO documents. Click on the title to download the document.
