Why me?

One morning, you’re surprised to find a letter from the College in the mail. When you read the opening few lines, your stomach sinks as you realize that a complaint has been lodged against you.

"For most nurses, having a complaint filed against them is a very stressful experience," says Tim Hannigan, a lawyer in Toronto who has represented several nurses in the College’s complaints process.

"A complaint can happen to anyone. You don’t necessarily have to have done anything wrong. And you can’t predict when and from whom a complaint will come."
