General Class Practice Review suspended in 2007

Random selection for Practice Review is on hold this year while the College examines ways to improve its Quality Assurance Program. However, Practice Review will continue for RN(EC)s and nurses in the General Class who were granted a deferral from the previous year.

Last year, the College randomly selected 400 direct-practice nurses and 350 nurse administrators to write a multiple-choice and case-based scenario assessment. The College is considering revising the assessment to better reflect a nurse's practice area.

The College is also exploring the possibility of online assessments based on the feedback received from members who participated in the Practice Review process. Online assessments would be more convenient for members, eliminate the cost of traveling to an assessment centre and enable more nurses to participate in Practice Review.
