Ontario advanced practice nurses who have already submitted an application package and paid the assessment fee only need to pay the examination fee.

Deadline to Withdraw/Reschedule without Penalty

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) exams will be conducted in these time frames. Please see chart below for writing centres. Note: These are computer-based exams.
March 24 – April 25, 2008

Candidates who withdraw or reschedule their ANCC exams are entitled to a full refund at any point prior to the exam date.

Update Feb. 20, 2008: CNO was recently informed that the Kitchener exam location is no longer operational.

Click here for information on the Canadian Nurses Association Canadian Nurse Practitioner (CNPE) Primary Health Care (Family All Ages) examination.

Note: The above deadlines are for submitting your examination application and fee to the College. Before sending your examination application and fee, you must submit your A-1E Application for a Certification of Registration for an Extended Class Specialty Certificate. Once the College notifies you that you are eligible to write the examination, you can submit your examination application.

The College of Nurses of Ontario must receive your examination application and fee on or before the specified deadline, regardless of the postmark. Please allow at least five days for your mailed payment to reach the College.

NP Exam Preparation Information

The Nurse Practitioners' Association of Ontario, the University of Western Ontario and the University of Toronto are offering exam preparation classes in February and April for nurses pursuing the NP-Adult or NP-Paediatrics specialty certificate. For more information, visit www.npao.org/exam.aspx.
