How do I meet language fluency requirements to practise nursing in Ontario?

To meet the fluency requirement, you must prove one of the following:

  1. Completion of a nursing program in English or French.
  2. Registration and practice within the past five years in a country with English or French as the primary language of communication.
  3. Completion of an approved nursing refresher course or total upgrading program.
  4. Successful completion of one of the English or French proficiency tests accepted by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
