Members suspended in 2008
for non-payment of fees
In Ontario, RNs and RPNs must have a Certificate of Registration with
the College of Nurses of Ontario in order to practise nursing. In accordance
with the Regulated Health Professions Act, nurses are required
to pay their annual fees each year or face membership suspension.
Suspension means that members cannot hold themselves out to be a nurse
nor practise nursing in Ontario. Practising nursing while suspended is
considered professional misconduct and could result in disciplinary action.
As of April 10, 2008, members who have not paid their annual fees for 2008
have been suspended and cannot practise nursing in Ontario, use the titles
"nurse", "RN" or "RPN," or perform any controlled
acts authorized to nursing.
Below is a link to a list of members under suspension for non-payment
of fees. This list helps employers and the public confirm the status of
any nurse, and ensures that suspended members do not provide nursing services.
Nurses are listed alphabetically by last name. Also included are the
nurses' registration numbers, suspension dates and the date the list was
last updated. If you find your name or a staff member's name on the list,
contact the College to confirm membership status.
Nurses who are members in both RN and RPN categories must renew both memberships
in order to use both titles. If only one membership has been renewed,
however, the member can practise within the scope of that membership only,
and cannot use the other title until they have paid the requisite fees.
If you have any questions about the membership status of anyone on the
list, or to reinstate your membership, please contact the Customer Service
