Being self-reflective and committed to life-long learning is a critical part of providing the safest and highest quality care to patients. This is why all nurses engage in daily practice reflection and participate in quality assurance activities throughout their careers.
As professionals, all nurses are accountable to reflect on their practice to determine their learning needs and actively update their knowledge and skills to maintain their continued competence.
Last year, CNO rolled out a simplified QA approach to meet the needs of nurses during this unprecedented time. Throughout 2021, we will build on the QA resources and introducing other QA activities to meet the needs of nurses while ensuring public protection. These activities will be released in different stages during the year. A requirement that will continue for all nurses is the development of a Learning Plan. Visit this page regularly for updates.
