CNO responds to government Bill 60 on interjurisdictional mobility

The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) protects the public by promoting safe nursing practice. This includes registering nurses with the knowledge, skill and judgment to practice safely in Ontario.

As leaders in public safety, we recently provided feedback to the government’s Standing Committee on Social Policy related to Bill 60, Your Health Act, 2023, specifically the proposed legislative amendments to enable interjurisdictional mobility for select registered health professionals.

We look forward to further discussions with government to reduce potential barriers and facilitate the timely registration of Canadian out-of-province registered health professionals. With the appropriate mechanisms in place to support safe care to the people of Ontario, we look forward to accomplishing our shared health care objectives.
