Discipline Hearings
Discipline hearings are held at the College of Nurses of Ontario’s building at 101 Davenport Rd. in Toronto (map) unless a different venue is indicated in the hearing notice. Hearings begin at 9:30 a.m. Latecomers will be seated during breaks in the hearing at the discretion of the Hearings Administrator. See Information on Attending Open Discipline Hearings for more information.
Dates of hearings are subject to change at any time. Those scheduled to attend a hearing should confirm whether dates have changed by checking the current hearing schedule before coming to the College.
Attending a hearing
Individuals should book attendance at a disciplinary hearing by emailing the College’s Communications Department.
Visitors, including members of the media, are prohibited from carrying into, or using while inside the Discipline Hearing Room, any audio/visual equipment, including video cameras, still photography equipment, laptop computers and tape recorders.
Members of the media who are reporting on a hearing may use an audio recorder for the purpose of note-taking only and not for broadcast by any means. Reporters are to advise the Hearings Administrator or the College’s Communications Department if they will be using a recorder. If necessary, the Hearing Panel will limit the use of recorders to avoid disruption of the proceedings.
Note for nursing students: The College does not provide students with letters or notes confirming their attendance at a hearing.
