Who should use the IEN education pathways?
If you are an internationally educated nurse (IEN) who has been informed that your nursing education is not substantially equivalent to an approved Ontario education program that meets CNO’s nursing education registration requirement, you can meet the education requirement through a CNO-approved IEN education pathway.
If you choose to meet the nursing education requirement through an IEN education pathway, you must choose a CNO-approved program from the list on this page.
What is included in an IEN education pathway?
The IEN education pathways focus on a subset of entry-level competencies designed to include theory and/or application courses, including the CNO-approved online Transition to Practice (TTP) course. The final course includes a 400-hour one-to-one supervised clinical placement to support you to meet the education registration requirement.
Please visit the institution or school website for more information about their approved IEN pathways.
