Your identity and cookies
CNO tracks the internet protocol (IP) addresses of visitors to this website. This information is used for the statistical purposes of observing general user traffic through different areas of the website.
Information gathered from logging IP addresses may include the type of browser used, the date and time of a user’s visit and the pages they visited while on the website. No personal information can be extracted from these records that would identify individual visitors.
A cookie is a small amount of data that may be written onto your hard drive when you visit a website. It identifies you as a previous visitor and is most often used to personalize settings and user preferences.
Cookies are used by websites to determine which pages are visited most often. Websites that require a username and password also use cookies to “remember” visitors as they travel between pages within a restricted area of the website. Each website deploys a unique cookie for every visitor, so one cookie cannot be “read” by another website.
CNO’s website stores a random string of text in a cookie to track each unique user session on the website. Cookies used by CNO's website do not store any personal information and expire when your browser is closed.
Data security
Any information sent or received over the internet is generally not secure. Thus, if you communicate with CNO using email, we cannot guarantee the security or confidentiality of any communication to or from our email servers.
However, CNO strives to protect your information when you use one of our online forms by using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Information entered on a secure page (identified by “https://” in the website address you see at the top of your browser) is encrypted as it travels on the internet to our secure servers.
