Applying for Reinstatement
All requests for reinstatement begin with the member or former member contacting CNO to request the application forms.
Once we have received the request, we will send the forms needed to begin the reinstatement process.
This isn't an immediate process. Please allow time for us to process your application. The time it takes to complete the reinstatement process will vary depending on your individual circumstances. Factors that may affect the length of time it takes to be reinstated include:
- the length of time involved in submitting the application forms, fees and third-party verification for evaluation by CNO
- the time it takes to resolve the issue(s) that caused the member's original certificate to be revoked, expired or resigned, in the case of former members requesting reinstatement to CNO
Once we receive all required forms, fees and supporting documents that will help us determine if you are eligible for reinstatement, we will send you a written update (within four weeks) about the status of your application in your online account. If we determine that you have met all the requirements for registration, we will then send a message through your online account that you are eligible for registration. You will be asked to complete your reinstatement registration and pay your fee online.
Reinstatement applicants can confirm their reinstated status by going to Find a Nurse and searching under their names or registration numbers.
