As the regulatory body for nursing in Ontario, the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) has the most comprehensive statistical information on nurses in the province.
We publish data and related reports about CNO’s registrants for public use. You can find these using the links below.

Nursing Data Dashboard
The Nursing Data Dashboard is a self-service tool that allows users to view trends in nursing data over the past 10 years.
The dashboard contains data about:
- the number of nurses who renew their registration each year
- their demographics
- their employment
The dashboard also contains data about new registrations.
CNO values the privacy of Ontario’s nurses. No personal identifiable information is available through the dashboard.
Registrant Statistics
CNO’s Registrant Statistics page provides data about the number of nurses registered in Ontario. The data is updated monthly and shows trends in registration over a five-year period. This page also contains data about the number of new registrations in the past year.
Applicant Statistics
CNO’s Applicant Statistics page provides data about applicants currently seeking registration with CNO.
Recent Statistical Reports
CNO's Recent Statistical Reports page contains the most recent reports on nursing statistics and examination results.
Workforce Census
CNO conducted its first Workforce Census in February 2024.
Our Workforce Census webpage contains reports based on the census information and other information about the census.
Requesting Registrant Address Lists from CNO
Lists containing home or email addresses of CNO registrants are available to external parties for the following purposes only:
- conducting research about nursing
- sharing information on continuing education opportunities
- sharing information from nursing organizations (such as unions and professional associations)
We release information only about registrants who have agreed to appear on our mailing list. Our Privacy Policy outlines the ways we share information about our registrants.
To request a home or email address list, complete the Home & Email Address List Request Form and submit it to CNO. Include all necessary documentation listed on the form. We charge fees for this service, which are outlined on the form. Processing your request may take six to eight weeks.
