Introduction

Welcome to CNO’s guide to registration for Nurse Practitioners.

The information in this section is intended for individuals who are seeking to enter CNO’s Extended Class and practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Ontario, who are:

  • Ontario or Canadian NP graduates
  • Internationally educated NPs
  • Individuals currently registered as a practicing NP in another Canadian jurisdiction or territory

Practicing in multiple Canadian jurisdictions

If you are a nurse who will remain registered to practice in one or more Canadian jurisdiction(s) while also registering with CNO in the same category, for example, registered as an NP with both CNO and another Canadian jurisdiction, and you are residing within Canada, you may be considered an interjurisdictional applicant. Learn more about Interjurisdictional Nurse Licensure (INL). As an interjurisdictional applicant you will receive a 25% rebate on your annual fee if Ontario is your host jurisdiction. Learn more about fees.
